RANCH HISTORY
In 1961, Donaldson
Brown purchased the Pewitt Ranch and subsequently renamed it Broseco.
Today it is home to an industry renown commercial
cow/calf enterprise and an elite herd of Red Angus. Broseco
continues to be a leader in producing and marketing superior quality
beef products desired by the consumer.
Conveniently located
along I-30 in Northeast Texas, the ranch is nestled between White
Oak Creek and the Sulphur River. The 45 inches of annual rainfall
along with two large lakes and
numerous ponds make the Broseco a waterfowl and bass paradise. Deer
and feral hogs abound. Pastures consist of a combination of bermuda,
legumes and native grasses. Hay meadows have Tifton 44 and Tifton
85 hybrid bermudas.
The cowboys have a
fine string of riding horses produced by the ranch’s own brood mare
band. Broseco is an active member of the American Quarter Horse
Association. Our goal is athletic, quite horses with a good dose of
cow sense.
